Georg (Jurij) Dolliner was born at Radeče near Zidani Most. He studied in Vienna and became a physician who was also very active in the field of botany. At first, he researched the flora of Lower Austria, then returned to Carniola to Postojna and later Idrija, where he died. During his botanical trips, he collected plants for his sizeable herbarium collection. In it, the type specimen of Carniolan Wallflower (Erysimum carniolicum) was preserved. Dolliner found it in 1826 near Radeče at Grajski hrib above Svibno high up the Sopota Valley.
