Eggs, nests, birds …

On occasion of the Easter holidays, we present some of the egg, nest and bird specimens held in the ornithological collection of the Slovenian Museum of Natural History. The entire collection currently includes 239 bird nests, and 1482 inventory units of bird eggs (each unit can contain between 1 and 14 eggs).

Donations in 2023

In 2023, we received an unexpectedly large number of vertebrate collections contributed by various donors, which were included in the Museum’s archives.
