In 2023, the Slovenian Museum of Natural History received the first fossil remains of a woolly rhinoceros (Coelodonta antiquitatis). The tooth is one of the most important paleontological discoveries in Slovenia in recent decades. You can learn more about the 1949 find in our new geological showcase.

The geological showcase will be open to the public from May 15 to October 10, 2024, at the Slovenian Museum of Natural History.
