Zoisite is a mineral that was named in 1805 in honour of Baron Sigismondo (Žiga) Zois (1747 – 1819), who founded one of the most important mineralogical collections in this part of Europe in Ljubljana and is today held by the Slovenian Museum of Natural History. Tanzanite is a violet blue to blue violet gem variety of the mineral zoisite. Its diversity from Tanzania is represented by Dr Clemens Schwarzinger, professor, collector and gemcutter.

The showcase will be open to the public from May 10 to June 9, 2024, at the Slovenian Museum of Natural History.
